Collection Robert

The Foundation

The Robert Collection Foundation has been entered in the trade register since 1980 with the following declared aim:

“The Foundation’s purpose is to collect, curate, publicise and make publicly accessible the works of the Robert family of painters – especially the watercolours and drawings of plants and wildlife by Léo-Paul Robert, Philippe Robert and Paul-André Robert. The Foundation’s goal should be achieved, in particular, by providing a permanent exhibition venue, by also exhibiting at other localities and, where possible, by issuing publications about the Roberts’ works.  The works in the Collection are to be complemented by documentation (namely primary and secondary literature, transparencies).

The Foundation can expand its activity in ways that do not infringe its basic purpose.”

This non-profit Foundation is under Cantonal supervision and includes on its board a representative from the Canton and one from the Municipality. The board developed out of the original initiating committee.
